Udupi :  Government should solve the people’s problems, to maintain democracy, the solution against intolerance, instead creating various serious problems in the country, said Janardhan Poojary, Senior congress leader and former MP.

While addressing during a press meet in Udupi on Saturday, 12th December, 2015, he said that whatever problems and interference in the parliament for the smooth working, it would be the government responsibility to solve the problems in parliament. He said that intellectuals are alarming other intellectuals on the rising intolerance in the country. Modi government has been working hard to silence them. The Prime Minister’s office has indulged in creating legal attack on opposition under its leader, Subrmanya Swami.

He said that the Modi government appointed governor’s of the country giving statement that Muslims should leave the country. One of the Central Minister compared the dalits who were burnt alive to dogs. Elected representatives should address the issue raising intolerance of the country. More than 27% of the country’s population are SC’s and ST.’s. The central government looking for control over media houses and trying to destroy Sun TV and its associates, initiated steps to ruin ND TV. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has been supporting Subramanian Swamy to continue his efforts to punish Gandhi’s by making baseless accusations since 1977. Prime Minister’s office was misusing Enforcement Directorate in the case of National Herald and others. He said National Herald newspaper was founded by Jawaharlal Nehru during freedom struggle. When it was suffering loss, reporters and management had approached him when he was Finance Minister and help was initiated by appealing to banks and others to advertise in National Herald. The organization went into further loss and it was later absorbed with Young India newspaper owned by Indian National Congress. Is it Subramanyan Swamy, shareholder of National Herald, Was he was a partner, Poojary asks. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Oscar Fernandes, Motilal Vora surely win the case that they haven't received any money as accused by Subramanyan Swami. Indian National Congress controlled by Congress and not BJP.

He said that Congress leaders deposited huge black money in foreign banks. But after searching, nothing available to Subramanyan Swami or BJP. The central government is trying to destroy democracy in the country. It is not fair to attack on journalists who publish the truth. Due to the media, the democracy has been saved. If there is tolerance, there development exists.

On the Yettinahole project, he said Congress and BJP leaders trying to destroy coastal regions, specially Nethravathi river. Our beautiful nature provided by God almighty. Due to Nethravathi river people got life and now politicians trying to destroy Nethravathi river which is a tragedy. The actual cost of the Yettinahole project was Rs. 8,000 crores, but at present the cost increased to around Rs.13,000 crores . It is time to give awareness to public that due to project more impact will arise.

Talking on the MLC polls, he said that every congressmen’ should follow the principles of congress. It is the decision of the congress body who should be candidate for any elections. He spoke to Jayaprakash Hegde and Harikrinha Punaroor to withdraw the candidature of MLC election. If not, the high command to take action for the rebel candidates.
