JCI Mangalore - Lalbagh Chapter celebrates Jaycee Week

JCI Mangalore - Lalbagh Chapter celebrates ‘Jaycee Week’ from September 9th - 15th 2018 which was formally inaugurated in Mangalore under the leadership of Mangalore - Lalbagh Chapter by organizing health awareness rally on eye and organ donation on Sunday September 9th at Lalbagh. Rakesh Kunjoor, JCI Zonal President inaugurated the rally by releasing the balloons in air and wished that the seven day programme be a grand success. After inauguration the rally proceeded from Lalbagh towards Ballalbagh. The formal function was held at Inland Avenue in Ballal Bagh. Rakesh Kunjoor, JCI Zonal President formally inaugurated the events by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais. In his speech he highlighted the need of providing awareness on donating organs so that we promote higher form of humanism. He also spoke on the activities of JCI and how it has benefited to the society.

Murali Shyam, Former Vice President, JCI India was the Chief Guest for the programme who released the eye donation poster and spoke on the importance of eye donation and its value. He shared his 25 years of experience in JCI and encouraged participants to involve in National Congress NATCON. JC Praveen Udupa stated that Individual Development is the main motto of JCI. He motivated the participants to take part in the upcoming World Congress to be held in Goa in October.

A short awareness training programme on eye, organ donation and health was given by JC Dr Ravichandra Karkal, Associate Professor of Psychaitry, Yenepoya Medical College and free health check up camp was organized by Amway. The members and other participants availed the benefits from this free check up camp. HGF scholarship fund was sponsored by 7 donors worth cheque of Rs 14000 was handed over to Zone president JCI Rakesh Kunjoor for JCI India Foundation, which gives scholarships for the needy students.

JC Peter Antony Pinto, Charter President welcomed the guests. President JC Soujanya Hegde welcomed all the dignitaries by giving away the flowers. JCI HGF Deenath DSa Secretary JCI Mangalore Lalbagh proposed the vote of thanks and Vice President gave away the mementos to the guests as the token of gratitude. JC HGF Sunil Oswald Mendonca and JC Jaison Pereira were the project directors of the programme.
