Jet Airways to operate more flights to Bengaluru, Mumbai from March 27

Mangaluru (TOI): Options of people wanting to go fly to Bengaluru will get a boost come March 27. This thanks to a move by Jet Airways that has announced the introduction of two more flights to the state capital from the above date. Incidentally, one of the two new flights that is being introduced will not operate on Tuesday as the runway is closed at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) during the scheduled arrival of the flight 9W2352 of 3.15pm.

The new flights that Jet Airways is introducing are 9W2352 (barring Tuesday) that will depart Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at 2pm and reach KIA at 3.15pm. Flight 9W2402 will leave MIA at 10.50pm and arrive at KIA at 12.05am. Both these flights are serviced using ATR-72 aircraft. Jet Airways at present operates five other flights to Bengaluru leaving MIA at 7.05am (9W833), 8.10am (9W2400); 11.20am (9W2756); 4.55pm (9W2783) and 8.05pm (9W2736).

Flight 9W2756 too will operate on all days except Tuesday for the above mentioned reason. Barring flight 9W833 where Jet Airways uses B737 aircraft, the airline uses ATR-72 for the remaining flights. The additional flights and the existing flights will give flyers seamless connectivity to Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, Trichy, Madurai, Pune, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Amritsar and many other destinations out of Bengaluru.

Likewise, move by Jet Airways to start a new flight to Mumbai (9W438) using a B737 aircraft too is expected to reduce connectivity time to international destinations such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, and Amsterdam among others. Flight 9W438 will leave MIA at 5.25pm and reach Mumbai at 7pm and will be operate on all days except Tuesday. The airline at present operates three other daily flights to Mumbai leaving MIA at 8.35am, 10.55am and 4.05pm.
