Mangaluru: A delegation from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) visited Adani UPCL plant to study the feasibility on evacuation process of 400 kVA line for the proposed UPCL’s expansion of 2x800 MW. The team also visited the transmission line corridor of 400 kVA line.

During their visit, UPCL’s executive director Kishore Alva explained the process of power generation of UPCL and informed about the latest technologies like FGD and ESP adopted in the plant to safeguard the environment. At present, UPCL is generating 1,200 MW and the entire power generated is being distributed to the state of Karnataka. With the proposed expansion of 1,600 MW, UPCL’s total capacity will be 2,800 MW and the entire power is earmarked for the Karnataka State, he added.

MESCOM MD Chikkananjappa, KPTCL chief engineer Hanumantharayappa, chief engineer Adinarayan, executive engineers D Chetan, Ravikant Kamat, P D P Rao, H S Deepak, assistant executive engineers Divyaprabha, Anil Kumar, superintending engineer Bheemanna Hebbal and Tanuja were part of the delegation. To commemorate World Environment Day, the team planted a sapling on the UPCL premises.
