KRCL and MRPL to jointly construct railway siding facility worth Rs 82 cr

Mangaluru: Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Gupta has said that a Railway Siding facility for the benefit of MRPL would be constructed at a cost of around Rs 82 crore. The work would be jointly taken up by the KRCL and MRPL.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said tenders for the project would be invited in January and that the project would come up near the Thokur railway station of Konkan Railway Corporation.

Gupta informed that the proposed siding with automatic loading facility would facilitate loading products inside the MRPL premises itself. The length of the siding will be 1.5 km and the project is expected to be completed within 2 years, Gupta informed.
