KSRTC buses collide near Golitottu

Puttur: As many as 20 passengers travelling two KSRTC buses sustained injuries when the vehicles collided head on at Sannampady near Golitottu Uppalige on NH 75 on Tuesday. The injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Puttur and Mangaluru.

If one bus was heading towards Kundapur from Bengaluru the other bus was proceeding towards Arasikere from Mangaluru. It is said the attempt made by the driver of the bus heading towards Arasikere to overtake another vehicle led to the mishap. Both the buses were badly mangled. Cranes were brought to shift the vehicles from the court.

Some of the injured include Ashwini (25) from Alake, Mangaluru, Nitin (35) from Kulshekhar, Umesh from Belur, Nagendra from Sakaleshpur, Sherley, Digant and Kusuma from Kokkada.
