Udupi: Fathima Ward, Kakkunje of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur celebrated Annual Ward Feast on Sunday, 30th October, 2016.
Thanksgiving mass for the patron of the ward Our Lady of Fathima was concelebrated by Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado of Pilar Fathers along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral. The faithful of the ward conducted the liturgy of the mass.
After the mass, all faithful of the ward conducted brief prayers in front of Our Lady of Fathima statue situated at portico of the cathedral followed by photo session.
In the evening, a get together was held at Smt. & Shri Anil Noronha’s house, Kakkunje. In the evening, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha, Rev Fr. herald Mathias and Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado and nuns of Ozanum Home were present.
One of the special tradition since long years in practice still that proclaim Rosary and procedure of praising with Litaniae Sanctorum unitedly by the ward faithful.
Various games were conducted by Joyce Pinto and others and prizes were distributed to the winners. Some achievers were honored for their outstanding achievements in education, success in various fields.
Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo in his message appreciated faithful for various achievers in different fields. He appreciated the service of ward gurkar Sylvia Lewis along with ward representatives for the parish council.
Earlier, Gurkarn Sylvia Lewis welcomed the gathering. Florine D’Souza compered the get together programme. Mrs. Noronha proposed vote of thanks. All the participants enjoyed the special dinner on the occasion of Ward Annual feast – 2016.
