Karaval Milan to present ‘Wilfy Nite' in Kundapur on Jan 7

Udupi, Jan 5: Karaval Milan, the united cultural forum for the parishioners of Udupi district, in association with Varado Pastoral Council , Kundapur, will kick off the New Year with some pleasant memories of legendary singer-composer Wilfy Rebimbus, with a grand ‘Wilfy Nite' on January 7 at Government Junior College grounds in Kundapur, to support various projects of Udupi diocese.

The event has been conceptualized to be a grand, fun-filled, entertaining evening for one and all with a plethora of immortal songs of the legend sung by his family

 

members including ‘Konkan Maina’ Meena Rebimbus , Vishwas Rebimbus, Veena Rebimbus Nee Pais, Arvin, Anna, Roger along with their troupe of acclaimed singers including Prem Kumar, Ivan Sequeira, Babitha D’Sa, Claude D’Souza, Babitha Pinto, Rony Byndoor, Glan Mendonca and young rising stars Munita , Nihal and Clement along with music maestros Pappan and Joswin. To complete the package, the singers and the musicians will also be accompanied by dancers ‘Thunder Guys’ team lead by Gavin Rodrigues and some of the most famous comedians comprising Dolla, Suraj, and The Expressions and Revelations of the Konkani speaking fraternity.

Karaval Milan is a hub where creativity, innovation and cultural experiments are brought to the fore. Ever since its inception, the popular Karaval Milan has made it a point to blend creativity with commitment in dishing out some of the most memorable and cherished events in Gulf and Udupi. This is why Karaval Milan is unique due to novel ideas executed rather than a mere organization. Karaval Milan has become a trendsetter in cultural and sports activities with their constant improvisation over the years.

Karaval Milan which is a ‘not for profit’ organization is known for its various activities from its inception in the field of sports or entertainment. Its endeavor has always been to reach out to needy ones with whatever savings they had done through their various events. Keeping in mind the visionary goals of our dynamic Udupi diocese’s Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Karaval Milan looks forward to aid in the vision and the goals of the bishop to fulfill its responsibility as a citizen of Udupi diocese in particular and the community in general.

The diocese of Udupi formed on July 16, 2012, has been striving to establish its basic infrastructure in order to implement its vision and mission spelt out in the Pastoral Plan-Mission-2025 through its 18 commissions. The need of the hour for the infant diocese is a pastoral centre, a minor seminary, a home for retired priests and the Bishop’s House. The amount collected through donations, sponsorships, offerings and others will go directly to the implementation of the said projects of the diocese. The diocese remains grateful to Karaval Milan and to Varado Pastoral Council, Kundapur for their cooperation and generous assistance. It appreciates the generosity of the benefactors and donors in India as well as abroad who are supporting the cause. It thanks president of Karaval Milan Pius James D’Souza and the office bearers of Varado Pastoral Council, Kundapur and members of both the associations, and all the donors for their kind help.
The event will indeed be a unique and memorable one with an expected participation of more than 3,000 music lovers.
