Karnataka Bank bags IBA –Banking Technology Awards 2017

Mangaluru: Karnataka Bank has bagged two IBA – Banking Technology Awards 2017 under the following categories.

1.Winner – Best Financial Inclusion Initiatives [Small Bank] category.

2.Runner up – Best use of Digital and Channels Technology [Small Bank] category.

IBA – Banking Technology Awards is instituted to recognize and reward individuals, professionals and banks who have recorded noteworthy technology and business benefits in the previous year.

Shri Mahabaleshwara M S, Chief General Manager and Shri Raghavendra Bhat M, General Manager of the Bank received the awards from Dr. Viral V. Acharya, Deputy Governor of RBI and Padma Vibhushan, Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Jury Chairman for the awards respectively, on February 21, 2017, at Mumbai, in the presence of Ms. Chanda Kochhar, MD & CEO, ICICI Bank and others.

Shri P Jayarama Bhat, MD and CEO of the Bank said “We are happy that Bank’s efforts towards promoting financial inclusion, in particular social security schemes launched by Govt. of India has been suitably recognized and rewarded in the form of this prestigious award.

Winning the runner up award for Best use of Digital and Channels Technology is definetly a morale booster for our bank to further innovate and make use of digital technology in various channels of banking”.
