Mangaluru: The prize distribution ceremony of the annual competitions conducted during the year by Konkani Natak Sabha(KNS) was held at Don Bosco Hall on Saturday September 24.
The competitions held during the year were elocution, poetry, singing, fancy dress, dance and Haskule (comedy) skit competition.
In the singing competition:
Below 15 years category –City Parishes - Bajjodi Parish bagged second.
In the above 15 years category - City Parishes - Bajjodi Parish bagged first.
and overall championship
In the fancy dress competition –
in the below 15 years category, Bajjodi Parish second
In the above 15 years category- Bajjodi Parish second
In the dance competition
below 15 years category. –Bajjodi Parish second
Infant Mary Parish, Bajjodi bagged overall championship in all the competitions held during the year-2016
In the beginning Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. The prizes of the competitions were distributed by the KNS president Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza along with Santosh Sequeira, proprietor of Santhosh Arrangers
KNS vice president Prem Lobo, general secretary Sunil Menezes and joint secretary and others were present. Sunil Menezes read the list of prize winners and congratulated them on behalf of Konkani Natak Sabha and proposed vote of thanks.
After coming back there was a process from bikarnakatte to Infant Mary Church. The atmosphere at the church was like carnival procession. The parishioners young and old alike danced together to the rhythm of band and celebrated the Victory.
