'Kristhacho Sangath' retreat held at Mulki Divine Retreat Centre

Mangaluru: YCS and YSM organized a Mangaluru Diocesan Retreat on the theme 'Kristhacho Sangath' - 'With Jesus', at Mulki Divine Call Retreat Centre, here from October 9 to 11.

360 students of YCS from 60 parishes of the diocese participated in this spiritual programme.

The retreat was inauguarated in an innovative way. The Holy Cross was brought in procession and the Centre director, Fr Valerian SVD adorned the cross with a garland. The chief guest of the ceremony Fr Joseph Martis, rector of St Joseph Inter-Diocesan Seminary in the city inaugurated the spiritual event with a Bible reading from John 15 where Jesus says 'There is no greater love than giving one's own life for one's friend'.

Fr Martis later addressed the students on the main theme of the retreat - Friendship with Jesus. The national president of YCS, Jeswita Quadros, the diocesan president Lavita D'Souza, Anil Kiran Fernandes SVD, Francis D'Cunha were on the dais.

The diocesan director of YCS, Fr Rupesh Madtha and Dexco organised the event. At the close of the retreat the participants chorused that they had a pleasant experience with the Lord.
