Kundapur: ‘Yuva Ekvot’ Youth assimilation (samavesh) at deanery level was held at the church hall of the Holy Rosary Church, Kundapur. Around 80 members from various parishes of the deanery took part in the programme.
The inauguration of the programme was conducted by Very Rev. Fr. Anil D’ souza, the dean of Kundapur deanery and accompanied by Rev. Fr. Albert Crasta, the deanery youth director and the resource person of the day Mr. Aldrin D'souza.
Ms. Reema compered the Programme. Mr. Joyal the vice president of the diocese council welcomed the gathering.
Very Rev. Fr. Anil Dsouza addressed the gathering that youths should gain knowledge from such kind of programmes and should groom themselves in order to have well established future or else everyone's life will be of the same old routine which is without any enthusiasm.
The resource person spoke about how one should focus on their future career and also how the students should prepare for their exams which were very beneficial to the youths.
There were two special guests in the programme who came all the way from Australia and seminarists who were the guests of Gangolli parish- Brother Samuel and Brother Joseph. Br. Samuel spoke about how one should deepen their faith in the love Jesus and not to shied away from his love, whereas Br. Joseph conducted a few games and enthralled the youths.
The afternoon session began with two cultural competitions namely konkani retro singing competition and bible street play where Mr. Pascal D'souza, Mr. Ivan Almeida and Ms Lavita were the judges of the event.
The prize winners were later felicitated during the valedictory ceremony. The judges shared their views about the participants and also cheered the students for the active participation.
The prizes to the winners were given away by Very Rev. Fr. Anil D'souza and the mementos to the judges were given away by the deanery animator Mrs Lona Lewis.
The diocese YCS secretary Mr. Dilan welcomed the gathering and Mr. Samuel Lewis the deanery president proposed the vote of thanks.
The winners of the competition are as follows: retro konkani singing competition first place-byndoor parish, second place- Gangolli parish.
In Bible street play first place goes to Byndoor parish and second place- Kundapur parish. Programme ended with singing the YCS theme song
