Local residents meet DC regarding jail jammer issue

Mangaluru: The installation of mobile jammers in the district Jail premises in Mangaluru has resulted in mobile network problem in the nearby areas. This has been testing the patience of locals. With no solution in sight till date, the local residents and representatives of various business, educational institutions which have been affected by the jammer met at Hotel Deepa Comforts to discuss the issue which has been prevailing since a month. A delegation even met the Deputy Commissioner seeking early solution to the problem.

The memorandum submitted to the DC pointed out at the problems faced by schools, hostels, BPOs located in the area. The problems in mobile network has made it difficult to even get emergency services, it said.

Responding to the grievances, the Deputy Commissioner assured early solution and even contacted the Hyderabad company which has installed the jammer and asked it to rectify the problem at the earliest.
