MINDFULNESS MEDITATION TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR PSYCHOLOGY STUDENTS

A workshop on Mindfulness Meditation was organized by the Department of Psychology, St Agnes College, Autonomous, Mangaluru, for the first and third year students on 6 February 2020. The resource person was Dr V Premanand, Head of the department of PG Psychology who was welcomed and introduced by Ms Kavitha of final year B.A.

 

Dr V Premanand began the session with the quote "Mind is minding everything." He briefed the students about the application of mindful meditation and its origin. He engaged them by demonstrating the techniques of mindfulness meditation i.e. Wise Mind technique, Meta meditation and a Compilation of several techniques, which emphasized on breathing, bodily sensation, feelings, emotions, love and self compassion, which the students experienced and found useful.

The session concluded with words of gratitude by third year student Ms Treasa.
