MIT, Manipal University gets dedicated ambulance

Manipal: Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University acquired a dedicated ambulance on Wednesday. Director MIT, Dr Gopalakrishnan Prabhu announced the start of the much-needed facility on the campus in the presence of students, faculty and other officials. He said, “There were a lot of request from students, staff and even the families on the campus to have one exclusively for MIT as there are about 10,000 people staying on the campus here ,” he said.

“I pursued it with the University authorities and they agreed to give an ambulance for our exclusive use. Of course, we are close to Kasturba Hospital, but it is always nice to have one close at hand to take care of emergency situations quickly” Dr Prabhu added.

The ambulance will be stationed at Kamath Circle, so it will be easily accessible to all who need. A driver will be available 24x7. Chief Warden, Col. CMS Kalakoti has had a pamphlet printed with four contact numbers. The pamphlets will be posted in hostels and other notice boards. “The ambulance is complete with all the emergency equipment,” Dr Prabhu said.
