Mangaluru: MLC Ivan D’Souza urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to announce a Christian Development Corporation as promised in the Legislative Council during a budget discussion. He said the CM has approved in-principle to set up a Christian Development Corporation for the welfare of Christians in the state. The budget has already earmarked Rs 200 crore for the Christian Development Council. An additional Rs 100 crore should be given and the Corporation constituted.

"Up to 5,981 Christian students were given a loan of Rs 20.46 crore at 0% interest in the last four years. The government had promised employment to the students. As we failed to provide employment to these students, I urge the government to waive off the loan of Rs 20.46 crore given to the students,” he said.

"The coalition is ready for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao has fixed a target to win 20 seats out of 28,” he concluded.
