Madrassa teacher held for kidnapping his students

Udupi: A group of 21 madrassa students from Jamia Madeenathul Uloom, Madeena Masjid, Karkala was kidnapped by Mohammad Tayyab, who worked as a teacher with the madrassa. They were rescued by police under joint operation by Karwar and Udupi Police in Kumta

The children are in the age group of 8 to 16. He took them away at 2 am in the previous night. Based on the details, the accused was traced and all the children were secured from Kumta railway station while they were being carried by Matysagandha Express. They were secured at 0700 pm.

Tayyab is resident of Bihar. All the children belong to Bihar. They were brought here to study in the madrassa by the accused himself. He taught them Arabic. The expense for the travel was paid by the management. However he also took money from children’s parents. When asked by the management to return money to the parents, he apparently got unsettled. And took away the children without informing madrassa management.
