Man bites off lips of his own father

Karkala: A man who was intoxicated, bit off the lips of his own father, after torturing him with a Kadsale. This incident was reported from Arabbi in Ninjoor village .

Santosh Poojary (36), committed this crime, and his father, Narayan Poojary, lost about half portion of his lips. Narayan stands admitted into the government hospital here.

On Sunday late night, Narayana Poojary was fast asleep, when his son, Santosh, woke him up. Santosh started a fight with his father for frivolous reasons, took in his hands the traditional 'Kadsale' found at the seat of the Bhoota at the house, and began to hit his father indiscriminately. As the Kadsale was not sharp, Narayan escaped with minor injuries. Santosh then bit off the lips of his father, as a result of which pieces of his lips including flesh came off.

Narayan admitted into the government hospital by his neighbours. Santosh was working for a catering firm and addicted to liquor. He had suddenly disappeared from home since February 1. His father had filed missing complaint in the town station.
