Manipal Arogya Card Scheme 2016 launched

Manipal, May 4: The enrolment for Manipal Arogya Card Scheme began here on Tuesday and will close on July 27, 2016. The scheme, a social initiative of Manipal University to make medical treatment affordable to the general public was launched by Dr H S Ballal Pro-Chancellor Manipal University. At the Dr TMA Pai Hall. Those enrolling before May 28, 2016 can avail of the benefits from June 1, 2016. And the scheme is applicable to the Manipal Group hospitals in Coastal Karnataka. The scheme has concessions for members and anyone who becomes a member by paying a small sum can get their membership money’s worth from just two or three usages of the Arogya Card. The enrolment figures for last year were about 1.50 lakh members, indicating the popularity of the scheme.

Also present on the occasion were, Dr Surendra Shetty Pro Vice Chancellor Manipal University, Dr Narayana Sabhahit Registrar Manipal University, Dr Rajgopal Shenoy, Associate Dean KMC Manipal, Dr B Unnikrishnan, Associate Dean KMC Mangalore and Dr (Col) M Dayananda Kasturba Hospital Manipal and Dr Anand Venugopal and Mr Saghir Siddique from KMC Hospitals Mangalore.

 Benefits of the scheme at the OPDs of Kasturba Hospital Manipal and Attavar

“Consultations with any specialist / super specialist doctor any number of times during the year paying only 50% of consultation fee is the most attractive among the outpatient benefits of the card. This is only scheme that offers concession on the charges for the non-OPD Day Consultation at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal and KMC Hospital Attavar. There is a 25% discount on diagnostics tests and laboratory investigations that offers relief to members. There will be an up to 10% rebate on medicines purchased from Hospital.

For In Patient billing, there is a flat 25% concession on the In Patient bill (excluding consumables) for any number of times during the year and upto 10% concession on medicines purchased from pharmacy.At KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle, there is a 25% concession on the Consultation charges and 10% discount on the Diagnostic and Laboratory tests on OPD Basis. As In Patient the member can avail 10% concession on the IP Bills excluding the consumables.

The Benefits at Dr T M A Pai Hospital Udupi and Karkala are: Consultations with any specialist doctor any number of times during the year and availing 20% concession of consultation fee is the most attractive among the out patient benefits of the card. There is a 15 % flat concession on the In Patient bill (excluding consumables) for any number of times during the year and also an upto 10% concession on medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy.

Manipal Arogya Card membership fee is priced at just Rs 270/- for an individual card and Rs 550/- for a family card. Family includes the card holder, spouse and all the dependent children below 25 years of age. An add-on card is also available for the parents of primary card holders under the family card scheme for Rs 100/- per parent. For renewal card, 10% discount on membership fee is offered.

Manipal Arogya Card 2016: Application forms are available with designated Agents and also at the nearest Syndicate Bank Branches.

The Dr T M A Pai Arogya Sevak Award 2016 nominees Mr Subrahmanya from Koppa / Sringeri area of Chikamagalur District and Mr Manjunath Omayya Kharvi from Bhatkal, Uttara Kannada district were presented the citation and certificates. The leading performing agents of the Manipal Arogya Card scheme were also honoured.
