Udupi: District BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde chaired a town-level party working committee meeting at town BJP office and alleged that the district in-charge minister has failed in regulating sand scarcity.

Addressing the party workers Mattaru Ratnakar said, “BJP has planned to organize Swacch Bharat campaign, awareness programmes against untouchability and Sahabhojana in order to mark the 154th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. “The town BJP has decided to host a programme on February 11 to remember the former BJP leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his one hundred years birth anniversary.”

Talking about the issue of scarcity of sand in the district, Mattaru said, “No one is taking responsibility of regulating sand mining; neither the district in-charge minister of Udupi nor the district administration authority of Udupi. Pramod Madhwaraj has failed in regulating sand scarcity."
