Milagres College Kallianpur celebrates Librarians’ Day

Udupi: Milagres College, Kallianpur, celebrated Librarians’ Day on Monday, August 14,marking the 125th birth anniversary of Dr S R Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India.

Rekha U, librarian highlighted the significance of the day and encouraged the students to use the library to the maximum extent.

While addressing the august gathering, principal Dr Vincent Alva highlighted that library was the heart of the institution.

"Knowledge is power which can be only gained by adopting the habit of reading good books," he said. He also advised the students to visit the library once a day.

Milagres PU principal Savitha Kumari, deans, faculty members, library staff and students were present for the celebration.

The programme was compered by Nithesh, II BCA.
