Model code of conduct applicable in Udupi district

Udupi: In view of the upcoming by-election in Shivamogga Lok Sabha (LS) constituency, the model code of conduct is applicable not just to Byndoor assembly constituency, but to the entire Udupi district. This was informed by Udupi deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis.

Polling is to be held in a single phase in all three districts such as Shivamogga, Bellary (ST) and Mandya where the by-elections will be held. The voting for the by-elections will be held on Saturday, November 3rd and counting of votes will be conducted on Tuesday, November 6th.

s per the revised voters list till January, 1 2018, the total number of voters of Byndoor assembly constituency is 2, 21,972. Of which 1,07,922 are males and 1,14,049 are females and one other. There are 1,786 PWD voters and 33 service voters. October 9th is the last date to add fresh names to voters list or for changing address. After that, a supplementary voters list will be presented before election commission.
