More doctors required as hospitals loaded with patients: Dr Mohan Pai

Mangaluru: Addressing the students of II PUC in the Cultural Centre of Expert Pre University College Valachil- here, noted cardiologist and professor of Medicine, Dr Mohan Pai said, “Medical profession has greater scope as every individual from common man to supreme leader of a country needs a personal doctor. India has 1 doctor for more than 1000 population which is less than the WHO standard. Our hospitals are loaded with patients."

Dr Pai delivered a lecture on ‘Medical Practice as a Profession’ as part of the career guidance programme 'EDU-PATH 2018’. He added that medical profession is a career driven by service and noble ethics. "It is respectable, stable and an evergreen profession." He presented a statistical analysis of doctor-requirements throughout the world.

Prof Narendra L Nayak chairman, Expert Group of Institutions honoured Dr Mohan Pai with a memento. Principal Dr N K Vijayan Karippal was present on the occasion. The Student Bhoomika R Prasad accorded a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and compered the programme. Anukha Nayana Gowda proposed the vote of thanks.
