"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;" - John 11:25

On 20th April, 2019 the grand Eucharistic celebration of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail began at 07:00 PM. Rev. Fr Gratian Alvares, the Residential Priest blessed the fire that was laid at the entrance of Church Ground. Later the Easter candle was lit with the fire that was blessed.

Rev. Fr. Richard D'souza, Director, Canara Communication was the main celebrant. Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peres, Parish Priest and Fr Gratian Alvares concelebrated the Eucharist.

Fr. Richard D'souza in his homily questioned the audience saying what proof will you give to non-Christians on the Resurrection of Jesus? Further he gave five proofs. Firstly the Holy Bible, secondly the Empty Tomb, thirdly witness given by the disciples, fourthly the existence of Holy Catholic Church and lastly you and me/the present Catholics. In addition to this Fr. Richard said we need to witness the Resurrection of Jesus and live a life that brings us close to Jesus.

Rev Fr. Austin later blessed the water and the same holy water was sprinkled on the parishioners that were present for the Holy Eucharist. Prayers and intentions were offered during the Prayers of Faithful. People had brought offerings during the Eucharist. The magnificent youth choir of Derebail parish added solemnity. Before concluding, candles were offered as a token of gratitude to the donors. The entire celebration was concluded by distributing refreshments.
