NEURON - Transmit the Data Impulse

The Department of M.Sc. Big Data Analytics at St Agnes Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research Mangaluru, inaugurated their first department association NEURON - Transmit the data impulse, on 4 September 2019 at the St Agnes PG Auditorium. The vision of the association is to build a robust platform to exchange information on various aspects of Data Science.

The Chief Guest Mr. Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi, MD and CEO of NOVIGO Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mangaluru, The president SrDrM. Jeswina A.C, the Principal of the college, Mrs. Anushree Raj, the Head of Department - MSc Big Data Analytics were the dignitaries during the inaugural. Final year students of BCA department were also present for the program.

The inauguration started with a prayer song led by Roselita and group to invoke the presence of almighty lord. AkshithaMenon and Ramona Muthu presented us the significance of Father of Artificial Intelligence - John McCarthy’s birthday celebrated as Artificial Intelligence day. Trupti Rao welcomed the gathering. Highlighting the key features of the department, Meghana J M gave a brief on vision, mission and objectives of the department. Expelling the darkness and stepping towards a brighter path, the dignitaries lighted the lamp and inaugurated the ceremony. The chief guest officially unveiled the logo and Joel gave us the interpretation about Neuron. Stimulating the spirit, the chief guest handed over the badges to the functionaries of the association.

Juwairiyah Mullah the President, Joel Scaria the Vice President, Shereen Obeid the Secretary, Farheen Obeid the Publicist, Sara Afrah the Treasurer, Pratima Dsouza the Event Manager were appointed as the functionaries of Neuron. Mrs. Anushree Raj the HOD administered the oath taking ceremony followed by Juwairiya, delivering the vision, mission, objectives and the activities of Neuron. The chief guest Mr.Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi spoke about theimportance of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics in the present Data era. He encouraged students to plan on startups with acquiring knowledge in the areas of AI, Robotic Process Automation and Cloud.

He appreciated the institution for starting such a rare course and inspired students to get industry exposure and explore in these areas. As a token of appreciation, Sr Dr M. JeswinaA.C presented a memento to the chief guest. The principal motivated the students to come up with innovative ideas and be abrupt to the future technology. She appreciated the department to select Artificial Intelligence day to inaugurate the department association. The entire ceremony was anchored by Shereen and the vote of thanks was proposed by Farheen Obeid. The program concluded with the college anthem.
