Udupi: Sri Ardhanarishwara Sports Club, Muttupadi, Karnataka Kabaddi Ametchur Association and Bharathiya Kabaddi Ametchur Association jointly to organize National level day and night Pro-Kabaddi Tournament at Muniyalu Gandhi Maidan, Karkala on 19th March and 20th March, 2016.

Speaking to media persons, Girish Shetty Hon. President of Sri Ardhanarishwara Sports Club said that since three years district and state level Kabaddi tournaments were held under the Muniyalu sports club, Karkala. Now for the first time national level kabaddi tournament has been organized which will be first time either in Udupi or D.K. district. The Kabaddi game has been very popular game in undivided district of D.K.

In order of the popularity of the game and demand of the youth, the entrepreneurs of Mumbai responded the organizing national level Kabaddi tournament at Muniyalu, Karkala. Sri Ardhanerishwara Sports Club Hon. President Sri Girish Shetty Tellar, Mahesh Shetty of Mumbai, Uday Kotian and Uday Shetty will sponsor the tournament. Around Rs. 30 lakhs will be spent for the Kabaddi tournament.

Around 20 thousand people are expected for the tournament where more than twenty teams will be participating. National top class players like Shabbirbapu, Rahul Chawdary, Ajay Takur and Pradeep Narval are expected in the tournament.

The teams from Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharastra and other states will be arriving and the winners will get Rs. Two Lakhs cash, Runners up will get Rs, 1,50,000 and semi finalists of two teams will get Rs. 80,000/-. Meanwhile, best rider, best player prizes are also given.

During the occasion, Sukesh Hegde, famous in Indian team who are born and brought up in Muniyal, Karkala will be felicitated.

The inauguration of the tournament will be held at 3pm conducted by Abhayachandra Jain Sports Minister and Vinay Kumar Sorake Urban Development Minister, Nalin Kumar Kateelu MP, Shobha Karandlaje MP, V. Sunil Kumar Karkala MLA, Gopala Bhandari MLA, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty, Ikala Harish Shetty, Ulthur Mohandas Shetty, Pankaj Agarwal Solaphur, Himanshu solaphur, Bhaskar Kotian, Dr. Mohan Alva, Pradeep Ajila Muttlupadi, Dinesh Pai, Shivaram Shetty Karla construction, Shivaram Shetty Ajekar, Anath Krishna Shenoy, Rohith Kumar Kateel, Gurme Suresh Shetty and other will be present as guests.
