Mangaluru: Principal of NIMHANS College, Dr B V Kathyayini inaugurated the national seminar on 'Envision', creating the future organised by Father Muller College of Nursing on Saturday June 3 at the Decennial Memorial Hall, Father Muller Charitable Institutions.

Addressing the gathering, principal of NIMHANS College, Dr B V Kathyayini said, "We must remember Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing who knew how to manage her profession. We must be systematic in our vocation as nurses. Florence Nightingale never rested. She excelled in her noble profession. Nursing is known to be one of the largest groups in healthcare service. Nurses throughout their service of caring for patients remain unnoticed and unappreciated. We must be proud of our profession. Our profession has drastically grown over the years as we are in great demand."

Principal of NIMHANS, Dr B V Kathyayini and other dignitaries unveiled the seminar's theme 'Envision'.

FMCI director, Richard Coelho said, "Nursing is the biggest forces in healthcare. We must be dedicated, committed and show compassion towards the profession. Today, the scenario has changed. We lack dedication and committment as well as ethics, which ought not to be the case."

Organising chairperson Shiji P J welcomed the gathering and organising secretary Frenita D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

Principal of Father Muller College of Nursing, Sr Jacintha D'Souza was present.
