Published On : 26 Jan 2017   |  Reported By : Canaranews Network

Mangaluru: State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader has said that there were plans to introduce a system wherein people can collect ration items once in every two months instead of the practice of collecting ration items every month. The issue would be discussed at the government level and necessary measures will be taken.

Khader said public opinion is also being elicited on the issue. The ration card holders need not visit the shop every month if the plan is implemented, he added.

The system of registering APL cardholders online has received a good response, he said adding this is expected to put an end to the confusion over ration cards.
