Udupi: Annual feast of Vailankani Ward of Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur celebrated with fervor on  Sunday, 19th October, 2014. Thanksgiving mass for Our Lady of Vailankani held at 8 am.

with something special and extraordinary under the able leadership of well experienced Gurkar Luke D’Souza.In the evening the get together of ward members and well wishers of the Church held at the residence of Gurkar, Luke D’Souza. The Vailankani ward was established from St. Anthony Ward of the Mount Rosary Church and this is the first feast of the new ward was celebrated.

The evening programme of the ward fest started with the lighting the lamp and switching on the light in front of beautiful statue of Our Lady of Vailankani by the parish Priest of the Mount Rosary Rev Fr. Philip Nery Aranha. During in his inaugural address Fr. Aranha said that Our Lady of Good Health is the Mother of health she always takes care of us and promised us good health.

David D’Silva, the former Gurkar conducted the prayer service. Many games were conducted and there was an entertainment programme was also conducted . Birthdays were celebrated those who born in the month of October by cutting the cake. Daina Mendonca Secretary of the ward presented the report of the newly established ward. Geneview D’Souza announced the donors names of the ward fest during the occasion. Former Vice Presidents’ Retd. Prof. Ligoury Aranha, Stany Cornelio, St. Anthony Ward Gurkar Richard D’Souza and large number of people of both the wards and others were participated during the celebration of Ward fest 2014. Deliciousl fellowship dinner served to all the participants.
