One day University level workshop on Soft skills at Crossland

A UGC sponsored University level workshop on Soft skills was held at Crossland College, Brahmavar for the students of Rural Development on Saturday 19th August 2017.The convener of the workshop Dr. Robert Clive G introduced the theme of the workshop and welcomed the guests and the participants.

Dr. Vincent Alva, Principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address, he appealed to the students to learn the skills for life from different experiences in life. He put forward the example of the life of late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He narrated how Dr. Kalam took efforts to overcome the obstacles to become the people’s President.

He felt that Indians will rule over the world if they come out of their shyness and laxity. He quoted the example of Prem Ganapathy, an entrepreneur to highlight the importance of thinking outside the box to succeed in life. Prof. Samuel K Samuel, Principal in his presidential remarks asked the students to develop their human relations skills and also to spend time in talking to others in order to create a more humane society. Ms. Rashmitha proposed the vote of thanks and ms Sabhya compered the programme.

The sessions on self motivation, leadership, team work, communication skills were handled by Mrs. Shammy Shiri,Manipal University and Mr. Rayan Mathias, PG Dept, Milagres college, Kallianpur.
