Orientation Visits by MSW Students of St Philomena College Puttur

Puttur: As a part of introducing Social Work concepts, core skills, contemporary practice methods to MSW students, the Post Graduate Department of Social Work of St Philomena College Puttur had organized 2 days Orientation Visit for the first year MSW Students. The students have visited various voluntary organizations and Care centers in Mangalore and Belthangady Taluk on 26 th and 27th August, 2016.

The orientation visit to various social welfare institutions provide the budding professionals in social work an opportunity to observe, discover and deepen their awareness in social work by understanding the nature, structure and functions of various voluntary organizations. It provides them an outline, understanding and inspiration so as to embark on their field work practicum in due course as well as enables them to imbibe professional expertise.

The students had visited Ave Maria Palliative Care Centre, Vamanjoor, Mangalore; SDM Mangalajyothi Integrated School, Vamanjooru; Link De-addiction Centre, Mangalore; Seon Ashram, Belthangady; SIRI Gramodhyoga Samsthe and RUDSETTI in Ujire during their visit schedule. The faculty members of the Department guided the students and accompanied them in the above visit.
