Mangaluru: The newly constructed church of Our Lady of Assumption in Ullal, on the Kerala- Karnataka border will be inaugurated by Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza on December 12.
The Church that was a part of Manjeshwar parish became independent after June 1, 1983. There was scarcity of space for offering masses on Sundays and during festivals. The parish priest, parish pastoral council and devotees who realized the need, worked day and night to complete the construction of the new church.
Kasargod diocese Chief priest Vincent D'Souza, Manjeshwar Vidhana Sabha constituency member Abdul Razak, Manjeshwar ward member Bhagwandas will participate as guests of honour.
Parish pastoral council Vice president Antony Monteiro, secretary Shanti D'Souza, Maria D'Souza and Stany D'Souza from pastoral council were present.
