PG Department of Economics of SPC Puttur organized guest lecture on ‘Major Issues of the Karnataka Economy’

Puttur: The Post Graduate Department of Economics of St Philomena College Puttur organized a guest lecture on the topic ‘Major Issues of the Karnataka Economy’ on August 22, 2019 in PG auditorium.

The former Principal of Nehru Memorial College Sullia Dr B Prabhakara Shishila was the resource person. In his presentation, he has critically analyzed the various issues of Karnataka Economy like regional imbalance, improper land use, water problem, ecological imbalance, Centre’s bias etc. He has also expressed his strong dissatisfaction about the inactive nature of the representatives of the people.

He said that every citizen must have democratic way of thinking. Our administrative system must be free from corruption and favoritism. In order to achieve a higher level of economic development, we need to utilize the available resources in an optimum manner.

The Coordinator of the Department Prof. Dinakara Rao, Convenor of the Planning Forum Ms. Sandhya H and Assistant Professor Mr Pradeep K S were present on this occasion. Assistant Professor Ms B T Sowmya proposed the vote of thanks.
