Pandal issue dominates CMC meeting

Udupi: BJP councilors disrupted the monthly common meeting of Udupi Municipal Council meeting due to pandal issue. As soon as the meeting presumed under the CMC president Mennakshi Madhav Bannanje, Yashpal Suvarna BJP councilor raised the issue of pandal removal by the CMC.

He said that BJP has the right to stage a protest. How municipal authorities removed the pandal without their knowledge? he questioned. Then there was chaos in the meeting hall in front of president’s desk severely.

BJP councilors were demanding an apology from the CMC on the pandal issue. The situation in front of the chairperson of the CMC was such worst condition that Yashpal Suvarna snatched the mike from President and snatched agenda book of the Municipal Commissioner Manjunathaiah.

There were heated arguments with the Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje and the Manjunathiah specially by Yashpal Suvarna, Mahesh Takoor, Dinakar Shetty Herga and remaining all opposition councilors. President told them to give scope for the answer or talking. All opposition disrupts and chaos held during the question hour time of council meeting.
