Planting of medicinal plants, information exchange programme held at SDM Ayurvedic College

Udupi: A programme of planting of medicinal plants was held in the vicinity of Community Health Center Mulki by the Herb Garden unit of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Ayurveda College.

More than 30 herbal medicinal plants like Kahibevu, Matti, Kiratakaddi, Amruthaballi, Nagakeshara, Shantikai, Honge, Ashoka, Punarpuli, Sanduballi, Shinshapa etc were planted and the information relating to the maintenance and management of the same was explained.

Dr Suma Mallya, the convener of herb garden unit, handed over the booklet containing the names of the medicinal plants in various languages and their introductory explanation. Dr Mohammed Faisal and Dr Nivedita Shetty helped in the building of herb forest.

Medical officers of community health center mulki Dr Krishna K, paediatrician, Dr Sunil, surgeon and Dr Jyoti, dentist and staff were present.

This programme was organized at the request of Dr Mohammed Irfan, medical officer, Ayush health center and he also cooperated for the success of this event.
