Podar School holds first Annual Sports Day

Mangaluru: Podar International School, Mangaluru celebrated their first annual sports day by bringing the lit torch to the school ground on February 18 with great pomp and splendour. The parents of students actively participated in the event too.

The chief Guest of the sports event Karnataka Cricket Convener Manohar Ameen inaugurated the ceremony by hoisting the flag. In his speech, he urged parents to encourage children to partake in sports activities. Through this, he said, they will gain overall development.

The members of the four teams of the school namely Ekwa, Ignees, Tira and Venches were part of the stunning march.

Students enlivened the events with performances like pom-pom dance, karate, lezim, hoops and dumb-bells.

Different race events were organised for the students. In the 4x100 mts relay, team Ekwa won the first place. Ekwa team with their leader Job Oman, and teachers Deepika and Anwitha Bhat received the award from the chief guest.

School principal T Shrinivasa Raju under whose leadership the whole event was a grand success, congratulated all winners.

The school physical education teacher Chandrahasa P extended the vote of thanks. The program was concluded with the national anthem.
