Police arrest 35-year-old for dealing with ganja

Mangaluru: Jamal (35), a resident of Kottarigudde near Gurupur was arrested by the CCB police on the charges of drugs peddling. He used to procure ganja from Kerala. Police have seized 2 kg ganja and a mobile phone from the accused. The value of the seized goods is estimated at Rs 1.15 lakhs.

The arrest was made by the CCB team near the Talapady toll gate. The cops had earlier gathered information that a White Honda Activa was on way to Mangaluru from Kerala. The accused had revealed to the police that the ganja was procured from Uppala.

It is said he was an accused in the Puttubava murder case reported in the year 2000 as well as another murder case. The CCB police have handed over the accused to Ullal Police.
