Police arrest six criminals at Tannirbavi for planning to murder

Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch police have arrested six notorious criminals near Tannirbavi and recovered two pistols, seven live bullets, two knives and three mobile phones.

Addressing a press meet, DCP Shantharaju said, "They were planning to murder a person who recently was released from jail and there was plot to commit a theft in city. Acting on a tip off the police waylaid a Swift car in which the six were travelling near Tannirbavi and nabbed them. During interrogation it was found that the gang was ready to strike a wealthy person’s residence."

The arrested are Safwan Hussain (33), Mohommad Faizal (33), Shamshuddin (27) from Surathkal, Abdul Nazir alias Don Nazir (34) from Yemmekere, Umar Farooq (25) and Mohommed Ansar (30) from Ullal.
