Postman suspended after heaps of undelivered postal letters found at his residence

Mangaluru: We all are dependent on posts. Our insurance premium reminder or marks card or interview letter are sent by posts. Postman delivers the letter and helps us a lot. However in a shocking incident, a postman serving the post office near Suratkal has been suspended on the charges of utter derelicition of duty by not delivering the postal letters since the past five years and instead dumping them in his house.

The accused post man is Ashok. It has been gathered that the postal letters found dumped in his house dated as early as 2010. Ashok has been suspended from service until then.

Ashok used to deliver only registered letters and money orders and used to dump the rest in gunny bags in his house. The undelivered posts found in his rented house included interview letters and appointment letters of many.

The undelivered posts came to light only when the land lord of the rented house broke open the doors as Ashok had not even paid the rent since some time.

On coming to know about this incident, several members of the public have been visiting the post office since the past couple of days to express their resentment.
