Pramod Madwaraj meets Union Agiculture Minister

Udupi: Pramod Madwaraj, the state minister for Fisheries and Youth Services, met Radha Mohan Singh, the union minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, at his office in Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi on Thursday, September 22 .

The union minister was requested - To release the balance of central assistance for fisheries harbour projects of Karnataka; To organise Conference of Fisheries Ministers of Coastal States, to form uniform policies for sustainable development of marine fisheries in Bangalore during November- December, this year; And, to retain the earlier central assistance pattern of 75:25 for infrastructure projects.

The union minister, after a detailed discussion, agreed to examine the issues and take immediate favourable action.

From government of India, Devendra Chaudhary IAS, secretary, department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, and from government of Karnataka, S R Umashankar IAS, principal secretary, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, H S Veerappa Gowda, director of Fisheries and Dr C K Murthy, joint director of Fisheries were present during the meeting.
