Kundapur, Feb 21: The “Prathibha Sanje” programme, to honor the talented people and special achievers was organized by the Catholic Sabha Association, Udupi Pradesh Kundapur Zone committee and ‘Shevot Prathishtan’ at the auditorium of St. Mary’s P.U.College.
Udupi District Rajyothsava Award Winner journalist John D’souza and international weight lifter (power lifting) and Rank holder in BBM-Oshin D’souza were honored by parish priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’souza. “The talented children, honored by us will not stay back in our village; they render their service in other places, that shouldn’t happen. We need these talented people’s service in our place” said Fr. Anil D’souza and wished them good luck.
Mr John D’souza expressed his gratitude and shared his experience as a journalist saying“During this period, the responsibility of a journalist is very tough and we have experienced it. Society has a doubt about our honesty. But we have so many honest journalists in our society. The problems of many villages were resolved by the news which has been published by a journalist”.
Mr Valerian Fernandes –the president of central committee of Catholic Sabha Udupi, Chief Guest of the programm, Johnson Almeida – the president of Rozary Credit Co-operative society honored the highest scorer students in zonal level. Mr Alwyn Quadres-the president of Shevot Prathishtan, in his introductory speech, “We are organizing such programmes to inspire the talented students and we expect the co-operation from people”. The president of Zonal committee wished good luck to the awardees.
The convener of the programme Mr Jacob D’souza welcomed all. Vinay Almeida, Vinod Crasta, Mable D’souza and Prescilla Menezas compered the programme. Shaila Almeida proposed the vote of thanks.
