Kundapur, 14: The Asst.Director of Pre-university education Board R B Nayak expressed his delight for the arrangements done to host district level pre-university college sports meet, which will be beginning tomorrow at Gandhi stadium, Kundapur under the patronage of St.Mary’s Pre-university college. Rajesh Kaveri-the vice president of city council Kundapur, S Shridhar Shetty-district level sports convever, Fr.Praveen Amrith Martis, Sathyanarayana Nayak, Nagaraj Shetty, Chandrashekhara Beejady, Shanthi Rani Beretto, Rathnakara Shetty and Vasanth Shetty were present.

The programme of sports-meet to be held tomorrow:
November 15, Tuesday: The Convener of St.Mary’s educational institution- Very Rev.Fr.Anil D’souza will lead the procession of sports-meet. Halady Shrinivasa Shetty-MLA of Kundapur constituency will preside over the function, Pramod Madhwaraj, MP will inaugurate the function, Ivan D’souza – the chief whip of Government of Karnataka will hoist the flag. Ekalavya awardee Anup D’costa will lighten the sports torch, Prathap Chandra Shetty-the member of Vidhana Parishath will receive the Guard of honor.

The closing ceremony of sports-meet will be held on 16th November, Wednesday at 3.10 PM. The MLA of Byndur constituency, Gopal Pujary will preside over the programme. Pramod Madhwaraj will distribute the prizes and Shobha Karandlaje; MP will distribute the global Awards.

Competition to be held:

In this sports meet, the following competitions will be held for boys and girls:

100 mtr, 200mtr, 400 mtr, 800 mtr, 1500mtr, 3000mtr and 5000 mtr, Long jump, High-jump, Triple jump, Pole-vault, 110 mtr hurdles, Shot-put, Discus, Javelin throw, Hammer throw, 4x100 mtr. Relay, 4x400 mtr. Relay, 500 Km Walking, 400 mtr. Hurdles will be held.
