Beltangady: President of a mosque was attacked by a few youth who had shown aggressive behaviour towards the teacher of Boladabail Rifai Sunni Jumma Masjid Madrassa at Kokkada village. This incident occurred at Kokkada Boladabail Madrassa on Tuesday November 8.
The accused have been identified as Hamid, Siddique, and Boladabail Altaf.
The teacher of the Madrassa at Boladabail, Ismail Madani, was conducting class for the students when the above three youngsters arrived there and began to converse in a loud voice. When the teacher objected, they reportedly hurled choicest abuses at Madani.
The teacher then called the president of the mosque, Muhammed Shariff, at which the three got wild and aggressively moved forwards the teacher to thrash him. By then Muhammed Shariff arrived there. The youngsters hit him with a stick. The injured Shariff was shifted to a private hospital at Nelyady for treatment. A case about the incident was registered in Dharmasthala police staiton.
