Prestige International School observes Kargil Victory Day

Mangaluru: The teachers and students of Prestige International School observed Kargil Victory Day here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Col Prashant Petkar elaborated the situation during the Kargil war and said that youth and students should draw inspiration from soldiers of the Indian Army who laid down their lives in the Kargil war in 1999 while safeguarding the country.

Principal Feroza Fayaaz addressed the students and said One should be proud of being an Indian and imbibe discipline and patriotism.

Ibthesam of grade VIII delivered a speech on the importance of the day and choir group of grade VIII rendered the touching song, ‘Bharat hamko jaan se …’. The students pledged to serve the nation in every possible manner.

Mariyam Naddeda welcomed the gathering.

Earlier, students of grade VIII A, B and C under the guidance of class teachers Sapna, Padmashree and Naheeda conducted a special assembly to pay their heartfelt homage to the martyrs of Indian Army, BSF and other troops who sacrificed their lives and won the war at Kargil. Suzan and Shamil of grade VIII hosted the assembly.

Nida of grade VIII proposed vote of thanks. The assembly ended with the national anthem.

Vice-principal Binil Kumar, PU academic dean Shobha and all the coordinators were present.
