Mangaluru: The old student’s association of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (ABSOSA) which instituted the Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty Endowment Fund in 2011 at Nitte University, have been conducting the endowment lecture every year on July 9. This year, Dr N Sridhar Shetty endowment lecture was organized by Nitte University and ABSOSA at Vimshathi Bhavan, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of dental sciences on Saturday July 9 at 9.30 am.
Prof Dr Krishna Nayak, principal & dean delivered the welcome address and recalled the contribution of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty.
Prof Dr S Ramananda Shetty, vice chancellor of Nitte University presided over the program and highlighted the rich contribution of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty towards the development of dental college as one of the best in the country. He applauded the old student’s association for conducting this innovative program every year.
The reputed speaker Dr PV Rai Consultant Neurophysician (retired) from Switzerland spoke on Epilepsy care in Europe and India. He stressed in detail the importance of knowing the clinical aspects associated with various types of Epilepsy, its care and its management in Indian clinical set up. A memento was presented to him by vice chancellor Prof Dr S Ramananda Shetty on the occasion.
Some of old students of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty who were great achievers in the field of dentistry were felicitated on the occasion by vice chancellor Prof Dr S Ramananda Shetty. Prof Dr Y Bharath Shetty, Principal & Dean of AJIDS and member of Dental council of India, Dr Shivsharan K Shetty member of Dental Council of India and Dr Shubhan S Alva president of Karnataka State IDA were felicitated.
Prof Dr G Subhas Babu coordinator of ABSOSA delivered the vote of thanks. Dr Arvind Nagaraja post graduate of Periodontal compered the program.
Nearly 250 participants including heads of various medical and dental departments, staff, post graduates and interns attended this highly innovative program.
