Prof.Samuel to step down as Crossland Principal

Prof.Samuel K.Samuel attains superannuation on July 31 2021 and is stepping down as the Grade 1 Principal of Crossland College, Brahmavar after serving as Principal for 17 years. He started his career as a Lecturer in Business Management in 1986 and assumed Principalship in 2004.During his tenure, the college went through three cycles of NAAC accreditation and improved the grading each time.

The college achieved academic excellence with excellent results, thirty six university ranks and produced thirteen gold medalists.

The college could initiate a number of novel projects like ‘Exams without invigilators”, Wall of charity, Each one teach one, free education for deserving, free breakfast sponsored by alumni, community development programmes,mentoring and the students excelled in the field of sports and games. Another hall mark of his tenure was the involvement of alumni in various activities of the college including freeship for students, free breakfast scheme etc.The college organized a number of academic programmes in association with UGC,Principals Association, All India Association for Christian Higher Education(AIACHE), International Association for Promoting Christian Higher Education(IPACHE), Colleges and Universities of Anglican Communion(CUAC),

Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai, and Mangalore University. The college is ranked 88th Best Arts College in India by’ India Today’ and 92nd by ‘Outlook.’

He served as a member of Mangalore University Syndicate, Academic council, Board of studies, Board of examinations, Affiliation Commission, Chair of Christianity and other University bodies.Prof.Samuel was the President of Mangalore University First Grade College Principals Association for three consecutive terms. He served as the President of YMCA, Brahmavar, member, National Board of YMCAs of India, Vice President, All India Association for Christian Higher Education, New Delhi and was nominated by the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust to the Jury of eminence that recognize Human Excellence every year. He is also an assessor for NAAC accreditation.

Prof.Samuel feels that the achievements of the college has been the result of pursuing the vision of the Founder Dr.C.T.Abraham,the team work and feels thankful to all stake holders for their support.

Crossland College alumni association Brahmavar and Bengaluru chapters organized a farewell function at the college on Saturday, 24/07/21 and .Chanstar Youth Club ®,Chanthar arranged a farewell at Mahisha Mardini Temple auditorium on Sunday,25/07/21
