Ramesh Jigajinagi wants politics away from religious places

Udupi: Ramesh Jigajinagi, Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation, said on Wednesday that politics should be kept away from religious matters. He was speaking at a religious-cultural programme organised as part of Krishna Janmashtami celebrations here.

Jigajinagi said that the country was aware of the consequences of the interference of politics in religion. Krishna Janmashtami was a symbol of integration. He lauded the Pejawar seer for his work in various fields.

H.L. Dattu, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission, Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha, junior seer, were present.
