Retro Fire 2019 - A Retro themed Youth Event organized by YSD Derebail, attracts youth of Mangalore Diocese

On the 09th of November, 2019 (Saturday) Yuva Spandan Derebail (YSD/ICYM Derebail Unit) organised Retro Fire 2019 for all the youth of Mangalore Diocese. The Church meeting hall was beautiful decorated to suit the Retro theme. Around 75 youth including Core Committee of ICYM Mangalore Diocese participated in the Retro Fire 2019. The youth who took part in this event were all dressed in the Retro Style Dress Code.

Following the registration and a welcome drink, the Core Committee of ICYM Mangalore Diocese conducted various Ice Breakers wherein all the youth enjoyed. Winners were given prizes.

Soon after the games inauguration of Retro Fire 2019 took place. Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peres - Director - YSD/ICYM Derebail Unit, Rev. Fr Gratian Alvares - Associate Director, Mr Mithun Rai - President - District Youth Congress, Mr Edward Coelho - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs Lizzie Fernandes - Animator of YSD/ICYM, Mr Leon Saldanha - President of ICYM Mangalore Diocese and Ms Ivy Melisha Dsouza - President of YSD/ICYM Derebail were the dignitaries of Retro Fire 2019.

The Programme began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty through a Prayer Song led by the youth. Mr. Mithun Rai, Rev Fr Austin Peter Peres and other dignitaries then formally inaugurated the programme. Mr. Mithun Rai then addressed the gathering. Rev Fr Austin Peter Peres in his message congratulated Yuva Spandan Derebail for organising such a unique programme. Later the guests were given a floral welcome. As a part of the welcome YSD members performed Line Dance.

Soon after the stage programme, a Fashion Show Competition was held. In the first round Youth had to do a Ramp walk. In the second round they had to exhibit their talent and in the final round they had to answer few questions asked by the judges.

Mr Preston Russell Sequeira won the title Mr Retro 2019 and Ms Nikitha Sequeira won the title Ms Retro 2019. The Guest of Retro Fire 2019 handed over the prizes to the winners. Ms Preemal Serrao delivered the vote of thanks.

Rev. Fr Gratian Alvares prayed grace before meals. Mr Sheldon Crasta compered the programme. Retro Fire 2019 concluded with a group picture and baila. You can now watch video of the entire programme at www.youtube.com/watch?v=aty9ngtVncM
