Udupi: The Students Welfare Council of the Milagres College, Kallianpur was inaugurated on Monday, 22nd August, 2016 at Milagres Tri – Centenary Hall. Rosalia Cardoza of final BA., took oath as President of Students Welfare Council for the academic year 2016/17.

Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo presided over the programme. Prof. Susheela Rai, Principal of St. Mary’s Syrian College, Brahmavar and Alumni of Milagres College was the chief guest and inaugurated the occasion by lighting the decorated lamp.

The programme started with an invocation prayer by Melvita D’Souza group. Rosalia Cardoza welcomed the gathered prior to the inauguration.

Principal Dr. Gerald Pinto gave presidential attire to the elected President, Rosalia Cardoza and administrated oath from the Principal.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gerald Pinto administrated oath from all the office bearers and Rosalia Cardoza administrated oath from all class representatives for Students Welfare Council.

In his address, Rev Fr. Prakash Anil Castelino, Campus Director said good leader should know his responsibilities and that may lead him to success in his/her life. Leader should make his opportunities available and march towards good life in the society as well. He called the students to make use of opportunities during the leadership in the campus, so as to lead good life in the career.

The chief guest the Alumni of the college of 1978/79 BA batch interacted beautifully with the students where she appreciated her college, Milagres College accelerated her life with success. She pointed out some of the instances of the students in the college as President of College while she led the college with Principal. The students leader should know his responsibilities and guide for the students of the college when there would be necessary with the consultation of council directors or principal. This reporter has also the batch mate of Prof Susheela Rai during 1977/79 of Milagres College.

Rosalia Cardoza who participated in the World Youth Convention held at Poland, Europe and Sathish Shetty who was elected as President of All Students Union of Mangalore University were honored.

Very Rev Fr Stany B. Lobo gave his presiding address and called the students to lead better in the career as well as in the society.

Helma Flemina Picardo of final BBM proposed vote of thanks. Sr Leona and Ms Vinitha Crasta D of second BSc., compered the programme. The programme winded up by singing the national song.
