SIT emerge champions in handball tournament

Mangaluru: The VTU inter-collegiate zonal handball tournament hosted by Srinivas Institute of Technology was held at SIT ground.

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, principal by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address to the gathering, he stressed upon the importance of sports for the mental and physical fitness. He wished the players good luck in the tournament.

Seven teams from various colleges participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Srinivas Institute of Technology and NMAMIT, Nitte. Srinivas institute of Technology emerged as winner and got qualified for the next level. NMAMIT, Nitte bagged the runner-up trophy.

Prizes were distributed to winners and runners-up by principal Dr Srinivasa Mayya D and Girish Kumar Kadri, former handball player in the valedictory function.
